The Homeschool Advantage
Daytime Martial Arts Class for Children

Denton Taekwondo Academy is excited to introduce our new Homeschool Advantage Program, open to all home schoolers in the Denton, TX area for the 2012 - 2013 school year and beyond. Children will learn traditional taekwondo, including basic kicks, strikes, and blocks as well as self defense techniques while improving fitness, flexibility, agility, and balance.

This class is an ongoing program for home schooled children aged 5 and up that will fulfill your children's physical education requirement, while helping them to build valuable, positive life skills. This program helps children form success-building habits--improving focus and self-discipline. Included in our program are bully prevention tactics and abduction awareness.

Our taekwondo program also builds character, teaching courtesy, social values, leadership skills, and a positive mental attitude. (See the Taekwondo America Student Oath and Six Tenets of Taekwondo.)

This Homeschool Advantage program is scheduled Mondays and Thursdays from 2:00 - 2:45 pm. We will be happy to add classes as demand indicates. Students may also attend the regular classes at no extra cost, up to 3 total classes per week (see below). Discounts are offered for family members.

This is a great physical education opportunity in a safe, indoor environment for homeschooling families in the Denton area.

Denton Taekwondo Academy was founded in 1986 and is owned and operated by the Rogers Family. All instructors and assistants are certified black belts with experience in working with children.

Testimonials:

"Our kids had always been interested in martial arts, and as a home school family, we needed an option that was not only top-rated, but also affordable. Denton Taekwondo Academy came highly recommended to us through a local home school group we are members of, and we found the program and instructors to be everything we were told. Mr. and Mrs. Rogers are family oriented and professional, and the level of instruction is excellent. Both of my kids, who are no longer kids, achieved black belt status through their training at DTA. I would highly recommend DTA for the whole family!

"I really appreciate what you guys do for Teagan, we've seen a great deal of positive change in the last 6 months. She's more respectful, more confident and more assertive. We had her well child exam last month and her doctor was impressed with her height/weight ratio. We've struggled to control it in the past but she's growing right on track now. I have noticed that she's more flexible and stronger too. It was challenging to find an activity that would keep her motivated and moving all throughout the year without serving fast food or charging a fortune. We also homeschool and, like a lot of homeschooling families, we prioritize sitting down to supper around the table every night. I appreciate that you are opening up time that you typically reserve for private lessons to accommodate the needs of homeschooling families. We have a very diverse culture here in Denton but it seems like children's activities are largely based on a public school schedule. The occasional night out is one thing but having practice until 8 o'clock at night just doesn't work for us. We're very blessed to have found Denton Taekwondo Academy. I, personally, look forward to having a chance to sit and chat with other homeschooling Moms and Dads and love that you have a lobby area for the parents.
